Of course I had this rare situation~ not getting it until there was no cure time. It’s called PUPPS Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy - PUPPs and here's the description: The rash is very itchy, or pruritic, hence the name. This condition is harmless to mother and baby, but can be very annoying. (that's an understatement!) It lasts an average of 6 weeks and resolves spontaneously 1 to 2 weeks after delivery. (Mine started spontaneously 1 to 2 weeks after delivery, thank you very much) The most severe itching normally lasts for no more than 1 week. (Mine lasted three weeks so I was breastfeeding, itching, breastfeeding, itching.)Not to mention I looked like a heroin addict with the bruises all over my arms. I thought my skin was damaged for life and I didn’t care, I had to itch. I found out that PUPPS runs in the family and it’s on your father’s side so if any women on your dad’s side had this you may. My aunt did have this, I found out later. Also the size of the baby. Dylan was 10lbs 9oz. Ouch, I know and yes I am ruined but that accounts for this too. The good news…it rarely reappears in subsequent pregnancies and did not happen to me second time around but then again she was a peanut weighing in at 9lbs 7oz! Then got turned on to this dude who looked like Yoda. He mixed Eastern and Western medicine by injecting B12 to my pressure points. My allegeries are gone. I mean gone! Keep in mind I was the sniffley doofus, always with a tissue. Got the the treatment two years in a row, and now have no problems. This is like ten years after this first treatment. I have HUGE respect for Chinese medicine. OMG, I had wicked allergies for eons. Then got turned on to this dude who looked like Yoda. My old mentor Dr. Dean Edell is very Western medicine, but even he says that Chinese medicine is great for pain reduction. Wonder if they can help with the dreaded IV. God, I hate IV's.
