(and I am pretty sure they are jewish but changed their names ; ) when my daughter was little we had the whole series and she memorized every cover from the back of the books. (too much birthday! was my fave) we were convinced she was some sort of savant because she knew them all by sight before she could read. hey she is pretty smart, but there was no AP Berenstain Bears class at her HS. wait, do they live in some sort of funky tree condo? what is with the plumbing in there? daphne, i am cracking up from this Berenstain Bears vid.
