Block Party
Share
One of the things I love about where I live is that we have a block party. My part of the block is known as being slackers, so I kept shouting "I'm a joiner" as soon as I moved in. Cut to myself and two other gals who organized the whole thing. It was great. But what would have made it better is if the community had invested in some name tags or stickers before the big event.

Good one! You sure don't talk enough about parenting a teenager or being the Stepmommy. And hey, pssst…If nobody claims that block party dish, send it my way.
I really wish that we had block parties here… I would be ALL OVER THAT! However the area that we live in is basically the student ghetto (which I feel I'm allowed to say since I was once a student in this fair city) so there isn't much community going on.
Sigh.
Perhaps I'll have to sneak into the block parties of friends who live in the burbs. I'll even bring pie!
yes, block parties are fun. in my experience blocks of apartments or too many renters don't translate to great community feeling.
I have to be ginger with the step kids anecdotes. don't feel like I can let that fly as easily as with my own flesh and blood.
Thanks to finding you, and watching your videos till after 1 AM last night, I have become the funniest woman in this small town. I will just begin my day like this: read or watch you first thing in AM (forego sit ups to accomplish this new time frame) and then go out and just wait for the opportunity to use any of your monologue I've memorized from that day. Voila. Mom with personality. So what if it only makes me laugh, I will be cracking myself up daily. This itty bitty town has moms that don't talk to anyone they haven't known since kindergarten. But, now I have 2 new BFF's: me and coolmom.com. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Alex,
What a sweet note! you have made my morning. Please lift the jokes. I make myself crack up all the time. Keeps you sane. Where do you live?
