What a great exchange between you and your mom. I love how you each shared your different perspectives.
My daughter and I often have similar phone conversations. We continue to try and help each other understand our viewpoints.
Recently, I told my 6 year old granddaughter I'd take her on a boat ride when she came to visit. I now realize I should have cleared it with my daughter before I said anything. We had to work through some issues together to get to that point of respect and understanding.
Whatever it takes, we need to keep the lines of communication flowing between the generations.
Please invite your mom to take a look at my blog for enthusiastic grandmas - the GaGa Sisterhood.

Alexandra, what a nice thing to say, thanks. Yes, that would be very hard!

Carly, thank you, I think she's a doll.

I LOVE seeing your mom, Daphne.

You're so blessed to have her in your life, and I know you realize that.

My mother has Alzheimer's, and it's very hard to not have that tangible communication.

Oh, well, I at least can share your mom with you, and thank you for sharing her with us....I'm sure there's many more like me out here, with no one on one with mom. I can tell you realize what a gift you have there.
