Why Don't They Leave Me Alone?
Share
Okay, start up the Vidder Awards, cause this vid should get one. I know, not nice to brag. But I think this is a good one. Trying to change it up a little.
Also, my pasty white, slab of a belly is in its full flower here!
Programming note: the teddy bear is a stand in for Rex.
After you watch it, tell me if you can't relate. I mean, come on people!

That is just too funny… oh and dramatic!!! Love it
oh, I'll tell you this for the umpteenth time, but you are so funny. "Can't get rid of the landline, think about michael jackson…"
One of your best, and I LOVE the belly!!
That was GREAT! So funny. I have had the same thoughts about getting rid of our land line…sans the Michael Jackson reference.
Have a great weekend.
Daphne, your blog is hands down my favorite thing to read in the mornings. Thank you for being real enough to relate to and honest enough to respect. I've been lurking here for about a month now and can't get enough.
I'm with you on the phone calls. I only have a cell but I hate the ring of it so much that I don't even like it when my husband calls me to tell me he's on his way home from work.
That was hilarious! Thank you for the laugh today. I needed it. I can relate. Luckily, I only have one kid (so I just shut off most of the ringers and hope my husband doesn't choke on toast).
Hilarious!!!
I can completely relate. Our doorbell broke 6 years ago and two children later we have not fixed it! I used to turn off the phone ringer when my youngest was a baby. When your baby finally takes a nap, who wants to be disturbed by a solicitor at the door or on the phone! That is the worst!!!!
Omg, so funny! Good job! I needed that laugh today.
you are welcome and thanks to all. Love it when I make some mommies laugh!
in this crushing heat I've become a total hermit so like getting reactions from the outside world..ones that don't ring!
Thanks so much, that gave me a good laugh. And the belly, well, can't all moms relate to that one? lol
LOL!!!
Kinda cheesy sorry..
I have so many retorts to your unneeded comment, but my husband asked me not to post them.
Too funny. It's amazing what you think of when you hardly sleep. Made me laugh so hard my 4 year old wanted to watch the video.
NOTE: from Daphne hope the 4 year old liked it
OMG! I loved it! And it's so true. But for me it's the freakin cell phone that goes off when I'm trying to wind down. People just love to call at sun down. WTF!?!?! And it's always nothing important. Firends, sure, but the other crap that calls…..
Oh, Daphne! You hit the nail right on the head. I kept my cell phone on vibrate beside me when I would lie down to nurse Alex (and yes, we'd nurse and nap, nurse and nap, sue me–I needed SLEEP!). If the phone buzzed, I'd sneak a peek at the caller ID; I could answer it if I thought it was going to be important. Otherwise? Call back later, jerks!
You're gorgeous, belly and all.
Awesome! I love it. My husband keeps trying to make me get rid of the land line…I just can't do it. I have some strange attachment to it.
We give to several organizations already, so when the kids cancer telemarketers call and I tell them we donate to St.Jude Children's Research (because we do) and they are all "realllllly?" I feel like a bitch and a liar. Now that I think of it, maybe we DO need to get rid of that landline- my self esteem keeps taking hits!
NOTE: from Daphne- I know. It's like this street nearby where there are always people with clip boards and they say, "do you have a minute to save the planet?" as I walk by I guess that means no.
We lost our Vonage landline a while ago, when we realized that we never answered it, and were finding that all the messages (which we were annoyed to have to check) were telemarketing related. Anyone we wished to speak with called our cells. I have a newborn, too, and conveniently ignore my cell for, sometimes, days on end. It's pretty bad, and many trying to get in touch with me get frustrated, but better them than me.
Just say no.
Lisa, you are the one who uses vonage! They advertise on my TV show ( and other basic cable) and I wondered what their deal was.
I don't have an answering machine on my landline. what's the point.
Could it be - I REALLY am LOL (usually I'm just LQTM - laughing quietly to myself). I like the extra "bling" with your video edits - adds a whole new element to your vlogs. I also enjoyed your "big box store" video - you have a way of tapping into those annoying little things that we never talk about, but are a part of our daily lives…. I can just imagine you handing out the gogurt on the street corner.
You are a nut
Great clip.
Thanks! that is my goal ( the nut part)
Renee, thanks so much. I want to change it up when I can. I did take the gogurts to preschool and the teachers doled them out as treats.
Here's what I do when I'm busy with my family and my phone rings: http://bit.ly/19IXqT
You are so funny! I do a vlog theme on my blog called "Monday Mingle" where we answer the questions and get creative in our answers via vlog. We then link up on my blog.
I would love for you to join in (if you get bored LOL)…I love your vlogs!
Tee hee… Cheesy Yes…BUT STINKIN' Hilarious…OMG Daphne u crack me up. I hate when I get those stinkin' calls….especially when the toddler who usually refuses a nap is drifting off into dream land and even if i get to the phone before the second ring….FOrget it….No mommy time for me. Boo! =)
oh and by the way…I wish i had ur cleverness =)
Oh and of course the EFFING public warning system (San Fran) every Tuesday at Midday has to scare the living daylights out of my daughter as she naps. Of course!
