I completely agree with you on this one. One of my closest friends calls my son her "other boyfriend" and I have never thought twice about it....but if a guy friend of mine or my husbands called my daughter his girlfriend I would be absolutely grossed out. One of the many double standards in life. They exist people will never get over them!

I guess that would be kind of weird but then again, I wouldn't want my friends calling my son their boyfriend either.

I...am such a prude, so I am icked out either way. I am also a REALLY visual thinker. I don't have a boy, have never suggested a baby boy is my 'boyfriend', but have listened to other ladies gush over their "boyfriend". Umm...I remember what I was doing to MY boyfriend just a few years ago...and cuz I usually imagine what I'm thinking in pictures in my head...I get super creeped out.

My daughter & a friend's son are 9 hours apart. At his first birthday party the grandma of the little boy joked, "Let's take a picture of you with your girlfriend!" Umm...No. My daughter is not his girlfriend...and even though I love you guys to death...I would SO not even want the remote possibility that marriage would forever tie our families together!!

And when other mothers suggest that their children are flirts...I think of the reason most people flirt...they flirt b/c they want the other person to become sexually interested in them! EW!!

But then, I am a little warped anyway...so maybe it's harmless, and I'm just overly sensitive.

YES! HAHA I went not too long ago to this mexican restaurant with my MIL and the manager remembered me and said hello, but when he saw my daughter he started touching her head and tickling her neck and I was SO CREEPED OUT by it that I haven't been gone there again to eat.; needless to say, my daughter was annoyed too.

Loved the video too!

Great point as always! My friends do love my little four year old and I never thought about them calling him boyfriend! There are definitely double standards when it comes to gender!

For example a wife wearing her husbands jeans, jacket, or even boxers can be sexy the husband wearing the wife's frilly nighty or blouse.....creepy!

Loved the video!

Such natural beauty, and clearly a defiance against plastic surgery. Must be best friends with Rachel Zoe.

Hmmm it's funny how much words do matter... but I dunno, I feel like we are often too picky when it comes to our kids. Like, I was publishing something about breastfeeding, and I was worried I was going to offend my friends who haven't breastfed as long as I have... I know you are not totally serious about the girlfriend thing, but I hate that we get touchy when it comes to our kids. Not that you are touchy. You know what I mean.

I totally agree. It's cute when women act all gushy and in love with my son but I would be icked out if a man acted that way about my daughter.

Although they both get a lot of attention as twins tend to do and sometimes even from women it gets weird. I mean, if I have never met you, I really don't want you to touch my kid. Does that make me a weird mom?

Just caught Mark on GoodBites with his tuna casserole. Couldn't concentrate on what magic he was doing in the kitchen, though, b/c he is so DANG HANDSOME.

Sorry, Mark, I'll have to use the printed form of the recipe, the video is just eye candy for this mom.

Nice job, nice choice...looks yummy (talking about the tuna casserole here...)

NOTE FROM DAPHNE: bless you! thank you so much. I will tell him. He won't believe it. Which makes him even more handsome.

Oh, you're so funny! That'll be new line these days, .."Maybe you should be registered, maybe you should be fingerprinted.." Ha!

I call my little guy who is still home with me my "short husband." It's true...he is with me 24/7 and knows everything about my life, and even has opinions on who I talk to and how I spend my money..hence the term of endearment...
