Valentine’s Day

I think the day I would like to have is Sit-on-the-Couch day. I’ve been nursing a cough… Rex and I have mommy and me coughs right now. Before I had kids, if I felt off I could put on my pajama pants, my worn sweatshirt from the ’80s, and watch trash TV on the couch while I ate chicken soup.

Well, that ain’t going to happen. But, oh, if it could. That’s the gift I would want.

  1. Here’s my valentine to you, Daphne:

    You are beautiful
    smart and cute
listening to you is such a hoot

    Even though this rhymey poem
    is juvenile
You are the one that can always
    make me
    Smile…

    awwwwwwwwww….love to you, Daphne!!

  2. Husband is a firefighter and working V Day this year.. Not that it really bothers me. As a wife of a FF you get used to being on your own with the kids on ‘holidays’. This year we bought sweet treats for each other (kids, hubby and I) and indulged on Thursday, when he was home.

While the kids were at school we rolled in the hay, went for burgers and then grocery shopped. Hey, still in love after 20 years, can’t be doing too much wrong carlton holidays be damned!

  3. love my poem!! thank you Alexandra
firefighters and soliders wife, you win! You know sacrifice.
Nice to put it on a different day.

yes, really, it is. but, I enjoyed my daughter exchanging cards with her classmates, that’s cute.

  4. This is the first year in like 10 years that I actually got to celebrate Valentines Day. For some crazy reason or maybe just a male planner the Motor Sports industry has one of its biggest events over Valentines every year. I spent so many Valentines alone that I didnt even know what to do for him this year.

    I know your frustration.

    Lucy
