according to my breastfeeding instructor, this ‘ruling’ or whatever you want to call it actually came out of working with ‘at risk’ moms who were getting confused about exactly how much was too much alcohol to determine that you needed to pump and dump. essentially, it was a stumbling block to breastfeeding, so the ‘experts’ decided to remove the hurdle.

i think our bodies do a pretty good job of filtering, and like most things around parenting, we’re given info on being A+ moms and really, you’d have to be an F mom to hurt your child and most of us doing a B or C job of it aren’t doing any damage.

Wendy, I am very curious to hear more. My kids doctor had also said that the dumping thing was overplayed. I don’t do it all the time. and yes, you know me going for the joke.

hey daphne, i know you were going for a good closing line with ‘pump n dump’ but thought you’d should know that the breastfeeding experts say you don’t have to do that anymore. so says the expert that taught the class i took.

I am trying to find a way to hire someone to clean my house…So I guess it’s a trade off. Although…with my husband deployed I get a bunch of free daytime hours for childcare on post. I do have to say going out isn’t as much fun alone!

J-oh, honey refer to an earlier vlog of mine where I said at the end of my pregnancy ( like you are in) I did start drinking. A glass of wine at night . I figured it was pretty much baked by then.

yes, I do. now, not as much as I would like as Viv is on to me and will say ” are you going to daddy’s restaurant? I want to go.” And that is not as much fun. But, I PAY for it. Literally. It’s not prudent, but I would be home alone almost every night if I didn’t have evening help. I ‘m not that tough. So, I like to dart out for an hour. I haven’t done it this week. No wonder I fell a little low.
