Rex Destroys! And That's Okay

Comments (6) Share

It's the small things that can make up a good life. Just being with your baby while they do their thing and you do yours. How a baby is perfectly content to play and explore as long as mom, or dad, is nearby. If mommy isn't there, they cry and race to find you.

I love this time with Rex. We play for a bit and then I jump on the phone or the computer for a little bit and he is fine. My house looks like a small bomb went off, but that's ok. As long as we are together.

I love watching them play like that at that age. Everything takes such huge effort, every arm movement, every hoist up, takes everything they got. You can see the concentration and panting and deliberate movement it takes for Rex just to try and.get.that.paper. in the trash basket.

    Lovely to see.

    He's adorable!
Makes me miss that age. Kids grow up way too fast!

I was just going to say, "Uh-oh" to you, Daphne when you called his attention.
But I do know what you mean; my daughter is 20 months old and she still likes to get into our magazine rack and "destroy" them. If I leave the living room to go to the kitchen she's "Mamma!" hehe..I do agree, it's the little things that count…that and nap time.. ;)

    Aw Daphne,
I haven't seen Rex in a while….and he's still a baby!! Yah!! I was thinking, wow, maybe little Rex looks more like a little kid now than a baby -but he still looks babyish!….I thought you'd like to hear that because,if you're like me (and my kids are 20,18 & 16YRS old now!) -the years have just zipped by….waaaay too fast. - it feels like maybe 12 years ago Christian, our oldest was born….not (just about) 20. Time is a dimension that just confuses the heck out of me.

And what IS it with boys!? :) When Rex was reaching for the camera at the end,I chuckled, because Christian as a toddler is seen in more than one home video, fingers waving, reaching, stretchiiiing for the camera - his little voice getting more and more frantic "camerwa, mummy, camerwa….camerwa!!"

…..to this DAY, I feel guilty that I didn't give him the camera - what up with that? :)
