I admit that I do not like tap water. It tastes different to me. I do use a brita though, and stopped buying bottled water. I feel like that's a step in the right direction at least. However if you have kids, you should be giving them tap water anyway because of the fluoride provided in the water. Kudos to you!

i think allot of people tend to use bottle because well it depends on your city.

sometimes water can contain rust, cholorine , or well water sometimes isn't 100 percent safe depending once again location. (you can actually buy testing strips to test your water to see about investing in fliters they normally can be found in the filter isle and cost around 5 dollars)

which is why most people will buy filters or use bottle though the bonus it helps your children build up a immune system as well.

Guests always look at me like I'm crazy for not having bottled water! Why would I drink out of bottles that leach toxins into the water when tap water in the US is great in most areas? Not to mention adding to landfill waste, or taking energy and resources to recycle. - Peace! NotaCoolMom.com

Great video!

I admit I drink bottled water and I'm trying to think of an alternative. I do recycle the bottles, but have no control over where they end up eventually. The problem is that I do not like the taste of my tap water. I still drink tap water at my parents' house, but can't do it where I live. It's fine for cooking though. I don't want to become the crazy person using bottled water to cook.

A pet peeve of mine is when people do not drink the entire bottle and when you go visit them they have 20 bottles they've started. I mean, really? How hard is it to stick to a bottle and finish it?

I do not drink our tap water. I've lived in my small city for my whole life, and the water used to be OK. Now, I hate the taste, and it smells like garbage - literally!

My husband (who has a serious medical condition) and I invested in a reverse osmosis water filtration system, his doctor's recommendation. I'm sure it's better than what's coming out of our tap. Heath benefits aside, it just tastes better!

I'm a simple girl. I want what tastes good!

I used to live in a place where fresh spring water was pumped into my house by a well. It tasted AWESOME. It was a little hard, but I never worried about it...I LOVED the taste of water.

I moved...Now we have "city water" where its from a treatment plant or something. Its all chlorine-y and filled with air bubbles. I do have one of those filter thingies on my water...just so I can get rid of the chlorine taste. I am in the most heavily chlorinated county in the state, haha...When I run the shower, it smells like a public pool! People will color their hair and a week later its back to normal!! They blamed the salon, but no, it's your water, dear!

Oh well...I do have reuseable water bottles...buuuut...they get lost or left under the seats of the car periodically. Anywho...I used to love tap water...but this stuff up here is like sucking up at the side of a pool.

I confess... I drink only bottled water at work. At home we drink water that has been filtered. In my defense, the water has been iffy here at times. Also, in my defense, I grew up in the middle of no where and we drank spring water. This water was amazing, until we got it tested "just in case" and found out that it had infectious levels of e coli in it. We lived down hill from a cow field... I'm a little gun shy...

Daphne, I am SO with you on this one!!

The number of people who fear their own tap water is astonishing. The bottles make me wretch with all the waste, not to mention the people who won't recycle them even when there's a container provided for that purpose.

We have always been tap water people with reusable bottles. And sometimes, we can even go whole days where we only hydrate ourselves at meals. Shocking, isn't it??

I've kicked the bottled water habit too... now if I could remember to bring my reusable shopping bags with me to the grocery store I could stop feeling guilty altogether.

We had felt some pangs of guilt for our wasteful bottled water service years ago, but didn't do anything. Then, as I was trying to curtail our electricity waste, I found out that our bottled water dispenser was using over $100 a year in electricity alone. Then I realized that our annual water delivery was $900. What did I do next? I saved ourselves $1000 a year by switching to good ol' tap water. Haven't missed the pain-in-the-neck bottles since. I change the filter on our fridge dispenser every four months and we have cool, crisp filtered water on demand with no hassles.

We're also strict reusable water-bottle users now. No purchasing of plastic single-serve bottles. I get so puzzled when I see people with cases of bottles in their kitchen. Who wants the hassle? And the waste?
