  1. I’m one of those people who counts carrying heavy baskets of laundry and overgrown toddlers as exercise. As a mom, you’re always on the go, from morning to night. Shouldn’t that have some healthful impact on the heartrate?

  2. love rex! love that he signed ‘more’ at the end.

my 15mo old is really groovin on the sign lately, though she uses ‘cracker’ for everything. So it goes, “cracker, cracker, more more more, please, please, please, cracker, cracker, CRACKER!” and i hand her a cracker, and she shakes her head vigorously and starts over with signing cracker.

  3. So I feel just a little bit guilty about this because I have made working out such a priority that we work our schedule around it. Yea, sometimes that means Connor has his snack at the daycare at the gym, but since he’s there so much he loves it. I write out the week’s classes that I think we can make it to the week before, and 9 times out of 10 it works. The classes are definitely my “me” time, you know?

  4. I place my clean, dry, fed, and clothed child in a safe enclosure filled with toys, sippy cups, snacks, and binkies– and then listen to her scream for 30 minutes while I run just inches away on my treadmill. Great fun for everyone!

  5. p.s. Daphne, please don’t ever feel like you have to beat yourself into anything, particularly a different shape. You look great!

  6. Hey, at least you have your own personal trainer! Who can resist Rex saying “Mommy More?” ;)

At that age my exercise was putting them in a stroller and heading to town to run errands or the local playgroup! We were a one car family at that point and if I wanted out that was my only option.

  7. Amy, we are a one car family, well we have second, but it’s a little electric car that is not safe for my kids. That is what I was doing, but now Rex won’t go in the stroller much.
Rose, I’ve been thinking about getting a used piece of exercise equipment, worried Rex will hurt himself on it though.
    Erika,
good for you. my gym doesn’t have daycare. there is one a short drive that does, hmmm little skittish about leaving Rex there. not sure.

  8. Oh, how I love Rex wanting “More!” and him being your coach.

And how I love, “how do prisoners stay so fit in those ltitle cells?”

You are hilarious…What I’d give to have a neighbor like you…

You just don’t care what you look like and go for the laugh…I love that.
