Holiday with Strangers

This isn’t as dated as it seems since I recently got some “New Years” cards.  They can be cute and charming, but after Jan 1, I’m over it.  The information in New Years cards doesn’t stay with me in the same way as the ones that arrived pre-Christmas and have fallen off the mantle 12 times.

My premise for this vlog doesn’t seem far fetched when you consider how popular reality shows are.

Happy New Year!

  1. Here’s my Christmas card pet peeve: when the family’s names are pre-printed on the card and the sender can’t even be bothered to sign it. How long does it take to scrawl your name on a card? I write a quick personal message on almost every one I send.

  2. Cyndi, I’m guilty of that myself. When it’s someone I have seen in the last couple of months. You are right, but feel I’m heroic in getting them out.
    thanks Jessica

  3. daphne, i also noticed the steep decline in holiday cards this year. I’ve been sending them out consistently for 10 years now (since my eldest was born) and my list seems to grow each year. I think i sent 140 this year.

And cyndi, i changed to preprinted photo cards after injuring my hand and finding myself unable to sign 80+ cards (list was smaller then), but lots of folks do photo cards now with nary a signature in sight, so mine doesn’t stand out as much these days.
