Clown Shoes

When I was dating my husband, I remember walking a mile in shimmery purple Manolo Blahniks and it was no big deal.  I could have been wearing Keds.  Then when I was pregnant with Vivien I felt like I would fall forward if I didn’t wear flat shoes.  It was a hot summer so I wore flip flops until it changed the shape of my foot.  I was nearly barefoot and pregnant.

Then when I had a baby I was so afraid I would “do a Britney” and stumble and almost drop my child that I wore flat shoes and sneakers; mostly favoring ballet flats.

Since September, I have been experiencing pain in my right foot.  Recently, I finally saw a podiatrist. Oh, sweet Jesus, have I become one of those people? The kind, the kind, oh, I can’t even say it!!  The kind that — gulp — complains about their feet!?

Might as well get my coupon for Sizzler and wait for Medicare to kick in.

  1. That was a great vid, from start to finish. I see style in your clown shoes…walk proudly. Finish ‘em off with some sequins or stickers, your kids will love you for it.

  3. It’s the patent leather that adds the credibility. And the model. 1hat other colors would you adore? Is there any navy blue in that west coast fashion climate?

  4. i did just order some black patent leather doc martens.

Yes, a wedge or a platform for night time would be good. bought one pair at nordstorms rack that almost made me fall, so those went back.

my husband used to wear those fridge shoes, yikes.
